This Taco Cheese Ball is a flavorful and easy-to-make appetizer combining creamy seasoned cream cheese with spicy jalapenos and savory black olives. Coated with crushed tortilla chips and served with fresh lettuce, cherry tomatoes, chips, and crackers, it’s perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Cheese Ball Mixture

  • 2 packages cream cheese, softened (8 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup taco seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons diced jalapenos, seeded
  • 1 can diced black olives, drained (4 oz)

Coating & Garnish

  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomato halves
  • Chips and crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with taco seasoning until well blended. Fold in the diced jalapenos and drained black olives evenly throughout the mixture.
  2. Shape and Chill: Line a 4-cup bowl with plastic wrap. Spoon the cheese mixture into the bowl, shaping it into a ball. Wrap the plastic tightly around the cheese ball and refrigerate for at least one hour to allow the flavors to meld and the cheese to firm up.
  3. Assemble and Serve: When ready to serve, spread shredded lettuce and cherry tomato halves on a serving platter. Place crushed tortilla chips into a separate bowl. Remove the cheese ball from the plastic wrap and gently press the crushed tortilla chips onto the surface to coat it evenly. Transfer the coated cheese ball to the platter atop the lettuce and tomatoes. Serve immediately with extra chips and crackers for dipping. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For spicier flavor, leave some jalapeno seeds.
  • Allowing the cheese ball to chill longer enhances the flavor fusion.
  • You can substitute black olives with green olives if preferred.
  • For a firmer cheese ball, refrigerate overnight.
  • Serve with a variety of chips and crackers to accommodate different tastes.
