A fun and festive dessert recipe that transforms fresh strawberries into adorable turkey-shaped treats, perfect for holidays or special occasions. These Strawberry Turkeys feature pretzel stick legs, mini marshmallow feet dipped in chocolate, and a luscious milk and white chocolate coating that kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 1316 Strawberries

Legs and Feet

  • Stick pretzels (cut in half)
  • Mini marshmallows (cut diagonally in half)

Chocolate Coating

  • 11.5 oz bag milk chocolate chips
  • 11.5 oz bag white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare Work Surface: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Assemble Legs and Feet: Snap the pretzel sticks in half. Cut each mini marshmallow in half diagonally to create a flat spot that will adhere better. Insert the pretzel sticks into the cut marshmallows, which will serve as the turkey’s legs and feet.
  3. Melt Chocolate: Use a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals (no longer than 1 minute total) to melt the full 11.5 oz bag of milk chocolate chips along with an additional half cup of white chocolate chips, stirring until smooth.
  4. Attach Legs: Dip the flat edge of each marshmallow piece into the melted milk chocolate and stick them on each side of the bottom of the strawberries to create the legs. Place these on the parchment-lined sheet and refrigerate for 10 minutes to harden.
  5. Coat Strawberries: Insert a skewer through the top of each strawberry and dip the entire strawberry into the milk chocolate mixture. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing them on parchment paper. Refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes until set.
  6. Melt White Chocolate for Feet: Melt about half a cup of white chocolate chips separately using the double boiler or microwave method.
  7. Finalize Feet: Dip just the ends of the pretzel sticks (the feet) into the melted white chocolate to create a contrast. Return to the fridge for another 20 minutes until fully hardened.
  8. Serve and Store: Once fully chilled and set, remove from fridge and enjoy your adorable Strawberry Turkeys. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.

Notes

  • The number of Strawberry Turkeys you can make depends on the size of your strawberries; larger strawberries will yield fewer turkeys.
  • For best results, use fresh, firm strawberries that can hold up to dipping.
  • Store these treats in the refrigerator and consume within one day for optimal freshness and texture.
  • Be careful not to overheat the chocolate to avoid burning or seizing.
