A vibrant and refreshing Red, White, and Blue Fruit Salad featuring star-shaped pears, juicy berries, and a tangy lime-honey dressing. Perfect for summer gatherings or a healthy dessert option.

Ingredients

Dressing

  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey

Fruit

  • 45 pears
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1 pint raspberries
  • 1 quart strawberries
  • Juice of 1 lemon (for soaking pears)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dressing: In a small bowl, mix the lime juice and raw honey together until fully combined. Set this dressing aside for later use.
  2. Cut Pear Stars: Slice the pears into thin pieces. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut star shapes from each pear slice. Immediately soak these pear stars in lemon juice to prevent browning and maintain their fresh appearance.
  3. Slice Strawberries: Wash and quarter the strawberries to ensure bite-sized pieces throughout the salad.
  4. Combine Fruits: In a large bowl, gently combine the quartered strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and the lemon-soaked pear stars.
  5. Add Dressing: Pour the prepared lime-honey dressing over the fruit mixture and gently stir to coat all fruits evenly.
  6. Serve or Chill: Transfer the salad into a serving bowl and enjoy immediately. If you’re not consuming the salad right away, store it in the refrigerator without adding the dressing. Add the dressing just before serving to keep the fruits fresh and crisp.

Notes

  • Use lemon juice to soak the pear stars to prevent discoloration.
  • Do not add the lime-honey dressing until just before serving if refrigerating the salad.
  • This fruit salad is best served fresh for optimal texture and flavor.
  • You can substitute raw honey with agave syrup for a vegan option.
  • Use ripe but firm pears to maintain the star shape well.
