Pumpkin Tiramisu is a delightful no-bake twist on the classic Italian dessert, combining creamy mascarpone and pumpkin puree with warm spices and espresso-soaked lady fingers. This easy-to-make dessert is perfect for fall, offering a rich and flavorful treat that’s chilled and ready to serve after a few hours of refrigeration.

Ingredients

Pumpkin Mascarpone Mixture

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Lady Fingers Layer

  • 1 1/2 cups prepared cold espresso
  • 1 package Lady Fingers (Savoiardi brand, about 7 oz, approx. 24 cookies)
  • 1 splash coffee flavored liquor (optional)

For Dusting

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pumpkin Mascarpone Mixture: Beat the heavy whipping cream in a mixing bowl until it forms barely stiff peaks. In a separate bowl, combine pumpkin puree, light brown sugar, mascarpone cheese, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into this mixture until fully incorporated.
  2. Assemble the Tiramisu Base: In a shallow bowl, mix the prepared cold espresso with coffee-flavored liquor if using. Quickly dip each lady finger into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them, just lightly wetting both sides. Arrange a single layer of the dipped lady fingers on the bottom of an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking dish.
  3. Add the Pumpkin Mascarpone Layer: Spread half of the pumpkin mascarpone mixture evenly over the layer of lady fingers.
  4. Layer and Repeat: Add another layer of dipped lady fingers over the mascarpone mixture. Then, spread the remaining pumpkin mascarpone mixture on top, smoothing it out evenly.
  5. Finishing Touches and Chill: Using a fine mesh strainer, dust the top layer with unsweetened cocoa powder. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or up to overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the tiramisu to set before serving.

Notes

  • Alcohol: This pumpkin tiramisu can be made with or without alcohol. Coffee-flavored liqueur enhances the coffee flavor, but alternatives like marsala wine or brandy can be used. The liqueur is optional and can be omitted.
  • Make Ahead: The dessert can be prepared 2-3 days in advance and kept refrigerated.
  • Lady Fingers: Use a 7-ounce package of Savoiardi lady fingers (approx. 24 cookies) for best results.
