A refreshing and vibrant mango salad featuring ripe mangoes, creamy avocados, and a zesty, spiced lime dressing. Perfect as a light appetizer or side dish, this salad is quick to prepare, combining sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy flavors with fresh herbs.

Ingredients

Dressing

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Salad

  • 2 mangoes, chopped
  • 2 avocados, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dressing: In a large serving bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, honey, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is emulsified.
  2. Add the salad ingredients: Place the chopped mangoes, avocados, diced red onion, and chopped cilantro on top of the dressing in the bowl.
  3. Toss the salad: Gently toss all the ingredients together to evenly coat the fruit and vegetables with the dressing. Be careful to avoid mashing the avocados.
  4. Serve immediately: Serve the salad fresh to enjoy the crisp and vibrant flavors at their best.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm mangoes and avocados to maintain texture.
  • Adjust the chili powder to control the level of spice according to preference.
  • This salad is best served immediately to prevent the avocado from browning.
  • For extra crunch, consider adding toasted nuts like cashews or almonds.
