Lychee Iced Tea is a refreshing summer beverage that combines the subtle sweetness of lychee fruit with the crisp, clean flavor of black iced tea. Perfect for hot days, this drink is easy to make and customizable to your sweetness preference.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 4 cups water, divided

Lychee Mixture

  • 1 can (20 oz) lychee in syrup
  • Sugar (optional), to taste

To Serve

  • Ice cubes
  • Lychee fruit pieces from the can

Instructions

  1. Boil Water and Steep Tea: In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes, or up to 10 minutes if a stronger flavor is desired. Then remove the tea bags.
  2. Add Lychee Syrup and Water: Pour in about 1 cup of lychee syrup from the canned lychee, then add the remaining 2 cups of water. Stir well to combine the flavors.
  3. Sweeten to Taste: Taste the tea mixture and add additional lychee syrup or sugar if you prefer a sweeter drink. Stir until dissolved.
  4. Chill the Tea: Transfer the tea into a pitcher and refrigerate until cold.
  5. Serve: In each glass, add ice cubes and some lychee fruit pieces from the can. Pour the chilled tea over the ice and lychee. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing taste.
