Individual Strawberry Pretzel Salad Jars are a delightful no-bake dessert featuring a crunchy pretzel crust, a luscious cheesecake-flavored whipped cream layer, and sweet strawberry pie filling. Perfectly portioned in mason jars, these treats combine textures and flavors for an irresistible summer dessert that’s easy to prepare and serve.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 2 cups pretzel twists
  • 6 tbsp salted butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar

Filling

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 (3.4 oz) box cheesecake instant pudding mix (unprepared)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Topping

  • 28 oz strawberry pie filling (approximately 2 cups needed)
  • Fresh strawberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Crush Pretzels: Place the pretzel twists into a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into small pieces suitable for a crust layer.
  2. Mix Crust: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted salted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir well until all pretzel pieces are evenly coated with butter and sugar for a flavorful crust mixture.
  3. Prepare Whipped Cream Filling: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to whip together the heavy cream, unprepared cheesecake instant pudding mix, and powdered sugar. Continue whipping until the mixture is light, fluffy, and holds soft peaks.
  4. Layer Crust in Jars: Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the pretzel crust mixture into the bottom of each of the seven 4-ounce mason jars, forming the base layer for the dessert.
  5. Add Strawberry Layer: Add 2 tablespoons of strawberry pie filling on top of the pretzel crust in each jar, creating the middle fruity layer.
  6. Pipe Whipped Cream: Transfer the whipped cream mixture into a ziplock bag, cut a large corner slit, and pipe an even layer on top of the strawberry filling in each jar.
  7. Repeat Layers: Repeat the layering process — crust, strawberry filling, and whipped cream — one more time in each jar to complete the dessert.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Use the remaining pretzel crumbs and some fresh strawberries to garnish the tops of the salads for added texture and fresh flavor. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use salted butter to balance the sweetness with a slight saltiness in the crust.
  • For a firmer crust, press the pretzel mixture gently into the jar bottoms when layering.
  • If you don’t have cheesecake pudding mix, you can substitute with vanilla pudding mix, but the flavor will be slightly different.
  • Keep the jars refrigerated and serve chilled for best texture and taste.
  • These jars are perfect for parties or packed lunches, offering portable, individual portions.
