These Homemade Air Fryer Cherry Cheesecake Egg Rolls offer a delightful twist on traditional cheesecake by wrapping creamy cherry filling in crispy, golden egg roll wrappers. Perfect for a quick dessert, these egg rolls combine the lusciousness of cherry cheesecake with the satisfying crunch of air frying, making them an irresistible treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a smooth filling)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling (or fresh cherries, pitted and chopped)

Wraps & Cooking

  • 10 pieces egg roll wrappers
  • As needed cooking spray or melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preparation: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer or a whisk to blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Cherry Filling: Gently fold the cherry pie filling into the cream cheese mixture until evenly distributed.
  3. Assemble Egg Rolls: Lay an egg roll wrapper flat on a clean surface. Place about 2 tablespoons of the cherry cheesecake filling in the center of the wrapper.
  4. Roll and Seal: Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll it tightly. Seal the edge with a little water to ensure it stays closed during cooking.
  5. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for even cooking.
  6. Prepare Egg Rolls for Frying: Lightly spray or brush the tops of the egg rolls with cooking spray or melted butter to help them crisp beautifully.
  7. Air Fry: Place the egg rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Cool: Carefully remove the cooked egg rolls from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Serve: Serve the warm cherry cheesecake egg rolls with an optional dusting of powdered sugar on top for an extra touch of sweetness and presentation.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature to achieve a smooth and creamy filling.
  • Do not overfill the egg rolls to prevent bursting during cooking.
  • If you don’t have cherry pie filling, fresh cherries that are pitted and chopped work wonderfully.
  • For an even crispier exterior, brush the egg rolls with melted butter instead of cooking spray.
  • Allow the egg rolls to cool slightly before serving to avoid burns from hot filling.
