Ingredients

Chocolate Base

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

White Chocolate Decoration

  • 4 oz white chocolate or white candy melts

Decoration

  • Halloween sprinkles, as desired

Instructions

  1. Melt the Semi-Sweet Chocolate: Place 12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until fully melted and smooth.
  2. Pour and Spread Chocolate: Pour the melted semi-sweet chocolate onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Set aside about one teaspoon of chocolate for decorating later. Spread the chocolate evenly across the sheet to your desired thickness.
  3. Melt the White Chocolate: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt 4 oz of white chocolate or candy melts using the same 30-second interval method until smooth.
  4. Create Ghost Shapes: Add dollops of white chocolate onto the dark chocolate bark. Using a toothpick or the tip of a sharp knife, drag the white chocolate downward to form the tail shapes of the ghosts.
  5. Add Ghost Faces: Dip a toothpick into the reserved semi-sweet chocolate and carefully dot on eyes and mouths to each ghost shape on the bark, repeating until satisfied.
  6. Decorate with Sprinkles: Sprinkle Halloween-themed sprinkles over the bark to add color and festive flair.
  7. Chill to Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill for at least one hour or until the chocolate bark is solid and set.
  8. Slice and Serve: Remove from fridge, slice into pieces, and enjoy your spooky Halloween ghost bark!

Notes

  • Use a clean toothpick for each step of decorating for best control and to keep colors from mixing.
  • If you don’t have white chocolate, white candy melts work equally well.
  • For a smoother bark, ensure chocolates are fully melted and the spreading is done quickly before the chocolate cools.
  • Store leftover bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.
  • Feel free to substitute semi-sweet chocolate with milk or dark chocolate depending on your preference.
