This easy peach cobbler recipe uses canned peaches for convenience and delivers a warm, comforting dessert with a golden, buttery crust and sweet, tender peaches. Perfect for a quick bake, it pairs beautifully with ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Fruit

  • 1 can peaches (420 grams)

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup milk

Butter

  • 1 stick unsalted butter (around 113 grams)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter: Place the stick of unsalted butter in a baking dish (approximately 9×13 inches) and put it into the oven as it preheats until the butter is fully melted. Alternatively, if the dish is microwave-safe, melt the butter in the microwave for a few seconds. Remove from heat.
  2. Prepare the batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and ground cinnamon. Pour in the milk and mix thoroughly until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour batter over butter: Slowly pour the prepared batter over the melted butter in the baking dish, ensuring an even layer.
  4. Add peaches: Gently spoon the canned peaches along with their syrup evenly over the batter. Do not stir or mix; the batter will rise around the peaches as it bakes.
  5. Bake: Place the dish in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the batter comes out clean.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm, optionally topped with a dollop of ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of ground cinnamon to your taste or omit it if preferred.
  • Using canned peaches in syrup adds extra sweetness; if using peaches packed in juice, consider adding a little extra sugar to the batter.
  • Be careful not to mix the batter and peaches after adding the peaches to maintain the cobbler’s texture.
  • For a crispier top, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end of baking, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated before serving.
