This Easy Peach & Basil Naan Bread Pizza is a quick and delicious recipe combining the sweetness of fresh peaches with the creamy texture of mozzarella and the aromatic freshness of basil, all atop a warm naan bread base. Finished with an optional tangy balsamic reduction, it’s a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, ideal for a light lunch, appetizer, or dinner in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Base

  • 2 large naan breads
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Toppings

  • 1/2 fresh peach, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 15 basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional

  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the naan pizzas.
  2. Prepare Garlic Oil: In a small bowl, mix the olive oil with the minced garlic to infuse the oil with garlic flavor.
  3. Brush Naan: Using a brush, evenly coat both naan breads with the garlic-infused olive oil to add flavor and help create a nice crust.
  4. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the coated naan breads onto a non-stick or sprayed cookie sheet, ready for toppings.
  5. Add Mozzarella: Layer the sliced fresh mozzarella evenly on each naan bread as the main cheesy component.
  6. Top with Peaches: Arrange the thinly sliced peach pieces on top of the mozzarella, adding a sweet contrast to the cheese.
  7. Season: Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste over both naan breads to enhance the flavors.
  8. Bake: Bake the pizzas in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the cheese turns brown and bubbly. Keep an eye to avoid burning.
  9. Make Balsamic Reduction (Optional): While the pizzas bake, pour the balsamic vinegar into a small saucepan, bring it to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer until it thickens into a syrupy consistency.
  10. Add Basil: Once the naan pizzas are done baking, sprinkle the chopped basil leaves over the top for a fresh herbal aroma and taste.
  11. Serve with Balsamic Drizzle: If using, drizzle the balsamic reduction over the pizzas. Cut into slices and serve warm for the best experience.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh peaches with canned or frozen peaches if fresh is not available, but fresh is preferred for flavor and texture.
  • If you prefer a crispier crust, you can increase oven temperature to 400°F and reduce baking time slightly, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • The balsamic reduction is optional but adds a fantastic sweet and tangy note that complements the peaches and mozzarella.
  • Fresh basil leaves are best added after baking to retain their bright color and fresh flavor.
  • To make this recipe vegetarian, ensure the mozzarella is suitable for vegetarians (without animal rennet).
