Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup feta (crumbles or a block)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/3 cup white onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup packed cilantro
  • juice of one lime
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp favorite hot sauce (green hot sauce recommended)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients. Gather all the ingredients: avocados, feta cheese, garlic, onion, cilantro, lime, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Roughly chop the onion and peel the garlic to make blending easier.
  2. Blend the main ingredients. In a food processor, combine the avocados, feta, garlic, chopped onion, cilantro, and juice of one lime. Pulse and blend until the mixture is smooth, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides for an even texture.
  3. Season and blend again. Add salt, pepper, and your favorite hot sauce to taste. Give the mixture one last quick blend to fully incorporate the seasoning and hot sauce.
  4. Garnish the dip. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with additional crumbled feta, fresh cilantro leaves, and a drizzle of hot sauce to enhance flavor and presentation.
  5. Store appropriately. If not serving immediately, cover the dip tightly and store it in the refrigerator. Chill to keep it fresh and enjoy within several days.

Notes

  • For best texture, use ripe avocados that yield slightly to gentle pressure.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce according to your spice preference.
  • This dip is great served with tortilla chips, pita bread, or fresh vegetables.
  • Storing in the fridge helps maintain freshness and prevents browning.
  • If you prefer a smoother dip, blend longer or add a splash of water or olive oil.
