Skip the drive-through and make these copycat Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets at home, paired with a homemade Chick Fil A Sauce. These crispy, flavorful nuggets are a perfect treat for any day!

Ingredients

For the Chicken Nuggets:

  • 3 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup dill pickle juice
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • peanut oil*, for frying (at least 1″ deep)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken in a large zip-close bag, add pickle juice and milk, coat well, and let sit for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Preheat Oil: Heat oil to 350 degrees F.
  3. Prepare Breadcrumb Mixture: Combine flour, breadcrumbs, powdered sugar, garlic powder, paprika, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Dredge and Fry: Drain marinade, coat chicken in breadcrumb mixture, and fry in batches for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Cool and Serve: Place fried chicken on a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • *Peanut oil gives the iconic Chick Fil A flavor, but canola or vegetable oil can be used.
