Brazilian Lemonade is a creamy, tangy, and refreshing drink made with fresh limes, cold water, granulated sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. This unique twist on classic lemonade blends whole lime wedges including the peel for a vibrant flavor and frothy texture that’s perfect for cooling down any time of year.

Ingredients

Liquid Ingredients

  • 6 cups cold water
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or more to taste)
  • Ice for serving

Produce

  • 5 limes, cut into wedges

Other

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Blend Limes and Water: Into a blender, add the cold water, lime wedges (with peels), and granulated sugar. Blend on high until the limes are fully broken down and the mixture looks uniform.
  2. Strain the Mixture: Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl. Pour the blended contents into the strainer and use a spoon to press and extract as much liquid as possible, separating the pulp and lime bits from the juice.
  3. Discard Solids and Clean Blender: Remove and discard the lime pulp and peels left in the strainer. Rinse out the blender thoroughly to prepare for the next step.
  4. Combine and Blend with Condensed Milk: Pour the strained lime juice back into the clean blender. Add the sweetened condensed milk and blend again until the mixture is smooth and frothy, ensuring the flavors are well combined.
  5. Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour the Brazilian lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh lime slices for presentation and serve immediately to enjoy the refreshing, creamy drink.

Notes

  • Cold Water: Use filtered or purified water for the freshest taste, such as bottled water or water from a purification filter or reverse osmosis system.
  • Limes: Blend whole lime wedges, skin and all, rather than just the juice or peeled lime. The pulp and zest add flavor and texture but are strained out to avoid bitterness.
