Ingredients

Sausage Patties

  • 2 frozen sausage patties

Eggs and Butter

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

English Muffins and Cheese

  • 2 English muffins, split in half
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Air Fry Frozen Sausage Patties: Place the frozen sausage patties in an even layer inside the air fryer basket, ensuring there is space between each patty. Air fry them at 400°F for 5 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking for even browning. Once cooked, carefully remove and set aside, keeping them warm by tenting with foil if needed.
  2. Prepare Air Fryer Fried Eggs: Place butter into two ramekins and put the ramekins in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F for 2 minutes until the butter melts. Remove basket, then gently crack one egg onto a small dish and slide it into a ramekin. Repeat for the second egg. Set the air fryer to 375°F and cook the eggs for 4 minutes for over-easy eggs with a runny yolk. There’s no need to flip the eggs as the top will cook thoroughly. Carefully remove ramekins, season eggs with salt and pepper, and keep warm.
  3. Toast English Muffins and Melt Cheese: Arrange the English muffin halves in a single layer in the air fryer basket and air fry at 400°F for 4 minutes without flipping. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each muffin immediately after toasting. Close the air fryer for a few minutes allowing residual heat to melt the cheese without turning the air fryer back on.
  4. Assemble the Breakfast Sandwiches: Layer each English muffin bottom half with a cooked sausage patty, followed by the buttered, over-easy egg, and then top with the other muffin half. Serve immediately for a warm, satisfying breakfast sandwich.

Notes

  • You can customize the egg cook time if you prefer your eggs more or less cooked; increase time for medium or well-done yolks.
  • Use ramekins that are safe for air fryer use and handle with care as they become very hot.
  • Cheddar cheese can be substituted with your favorite type of cheese for different flavors.
  • For added flavor, consider adding a slice of tomato, avocado, or hot sauce when assembling the sandwich.
  • This recipe is easily doubled or tripled for more servings using the same air fryer cooking times but in batches if necessary.
