A quick and potent homemade immunity shot combining fresh ginger, citrus juices, honey, apple cider vinegar, and warming spices. This energizing blend is designed to boost your immune system and provide a zesty, healthful kick in just 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Juices and Liquids

  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 large lemon, 60ml)
  • ⅓ cup orange juice (80ml)
  • 1 Tbsp honey (15ml)
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar (15ml)
  • ½ cup water or coconut water (120ml)

Spices and Flavorings

  • 3 inches fresh ginger root, roughly chopped (8cm) or 2-3 tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • Dash black pepper
  • Dash cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ginger: Roughly chop the fresh ginger root; peeling is optional. Add it along with the lemon juice, orange juice, honey, apple cider vinegar, water, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to a blender.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Blend all the ingredients on high speed for about 30 seconds until smooth and well combined.
  3. Strain Juice: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag into a measuring cup or bowl. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to press down on the ginger pulp and extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the pulp afterward.
  4. Portion Shots: Divide the strained juice into 2-ounce servings using small shot glasses or containers, enough for about 8 servings. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  5. Serving Suggestions: Enjoy cold as immunity shots, or freeze into ice cube trays and thaw as needed. Alternatively, mix with warm water to enjoy as a hot tea-like beverage.

Notes

  • Fresh ginger gives the best flavor and benefits, but ground ginger can be used as a substitute.
  • Adjust honey amount to taste for desired sweetness.
  • Add warm water to create a soothing hot drink.
  • Store shots in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 7 days.
  • Use coconut water instead of plain water for added electrolytes and a subtle sweetness.
