Strawberry Iced Tea is a refreshing homemade beverage combining fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and black tea, perfect for quenching your thirst on warm days. Easy to prepare with a delightful balance of sweetness and tang, this iced tea is a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.

Ingredients

Strawberry Syrup

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water

Strawberry Iced Tea

  • 1 cup strawberry syrup
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 5 bags black tea
  • 6 cups water, divided
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint and sliced strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make Strawberry Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sliced strawberries, ¾ cup sugar, and 2 cups water. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes until strawberries are soft. Remove from heat and strain mixture into a container to separate syrup from solids. Allow syrup to cool completely.
  2. Brew Tea: In another saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and add 5 black tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes, then discard the tea bags.
  3. Add Sweetener: Stir ½ cup sugar into the hot brewed tea until fully dissolved.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Pour the cooled strawberry syrup into a large pitcher. Add the brewed sweet tea and the remaining 4 cups of water to the pitcher. Stir in ½ cup fresh lemon juice and mix well.
  5. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the strawberry iced tea over the ice, and garnish with fresh mint leaves and sliced strawberries if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing beverage.
