Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 5 wheat biscuits (75g if using crumbs)
  • 1 cup raisins or sultanas
  • ½ cup sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup desiccated coconut
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 23 Tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Place the wheat biscuits, raisins or sultanas, sunflower seeds, desiccated coconut, and cocoa powder into a food processor.
  2. Process Mixture: Whizz all the ingredients in the food processor until they are finely ground and combined into a coarse mixture.
  3. Add Water: Slowly add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water bit by bit while continuing to process until the mixture starts to come together and is sticky enough to form balls.
  4. Form Balls: Using your hands, roll the mixture into 12-15 evenly sized balls. Optionally, roll the balls in additional desiccated coconut for a decorative and tasty coating.
  5. Store: Place the Weetbix Balls in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 5 days. These balls can also be frozen for longer storage.

Notes

  • You can substitute raisins with sultanas or other dried fruits if preferred.
  • Adjust water quantity slightly to achieve the right consistency for rolling.
  • Rolling the balls in extra coconut adds texture and prevents sticking.
  • Store in airtight containers to keep them fresh longer.
  • Freezing the balls extends their shelf life and they can be thawed at room temperature before eating.
