These Valentine’s Day Cinnamon Rolls are a delightful twist on a classic treat, featuring heart-shaped cinnamon rolls filled with strawberry jelly and topped with sweet icing. Perfect for celebrating love with a warm, homemade feel, this easy recipe uses pre-made cinnamon rolls to create a festive dessert in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 8-count can of cinnamon rolls (set icing aside)
  • 1 8-count can of cinnamon rolls (set icing aside)

Filling and Topping

  • 6 Tablespoons strawberry jelly
  • Icing from cinnamon roll cans

Instructions

  1. Prepare cinnamon rolls: Open two cans of cinnamon rolls, each containing 8 rolls, and set aside the icing cups that come with them for later use. Set two cinnamon rolls aside from the first can.
  2. Grease baking sheet: Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking, then unroll six cinnamon rolls from the first can.
  3. Create heart shapes: Shape each of the six unrolled cinnamon rolls into a heart by firmly pinching the ends together at the top to close the heart shape.
  4. Prepare small pieces: Unroll the two remaining cinnamon rolls and cut each into three equal pieces.
  5. Form V-shapes: Flatten each cut piece and fold into a V-shape, which will be inserted into the base of each heart.
  6. Assemble hearts: Place a V-shaped piece into the base of each heart and spread it out to form a small cup for the jelly.
  7. First bake: Bake the cinnamon rolls on the baking sheet in the oven for 5 minutes. This firms them up slightly and shapes the jelly cup.
  8. Add jelly: Remove the rolls from the oven and spoon about a tablespoon of strawberry jelly into the center of each heart, spreading it to form a smaller heart shape inside.
  9. Second bake: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown.
  10. Cool: Use a spatula to transfer the baked cinnamon rolls onto a cooling rack and let them cool slightly.
  11. Ice the rolls: Warm the reserved icing slightly in the microwave if needed for easier drizzling (remove aluminum top first). Drizzle the icing over the cooled, jelly-filled heart-shaped cinnamon rolls to finish.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper on the baking sheet for easier cleanup.
  • Warming the icing slightly makes it easier to drizzle but don’t overheat to avoid melting.
  • You can substitute other fruit jelly flavors if preferred.
  • Watch carefully in the oven as baking times may vary depending on your oven.
  • Serve warm for the best taste and gooey texture.
