Ultra Crispy Chicken Parmesan features a golden, crunchy crust made with panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese, fried to perfection and topped with marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil. This recipe ensures a crispy exterior while keeping the chicken juicy inside, delivering a restaurant-quality dish at home.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

½ cup olive oil for frying

½ cup prepared tomato sauce

¼ cup fresh mozzarella, cut into small cubes

¼ cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Set up a breading station: place flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in a third.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the egg wash, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry the breaded chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Transfer the fried chicken to a baking sheet.
  8. Top each piece with tomato sauce, mozzarella cubes, and chopped basil.
  9. Broil in the preheated oven for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Serve immediately, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.
