Ingredients

For Chicken Coating:

  • 400 grams Chicken breast, boneless
  • ¼ tsp White pepper
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 150 grams Cornstarch
  • 1 Egg
  • Oil for frying
  • Spring onions for garnish

For Sweet Chilli Sauce Mix:

  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp Dried chilli flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 6 tbsp Sweet Chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • ½ tsp Cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water to make slurry

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken Coating: Dice chicken into cubes, add soy sauce, white pepper, and egg. Coat chicken in cornstarch.
  2. Fry the Chicken: Heat oil, fry chicken until golden brown. Set aside on cooling rack.
  3. Toss Chicken in Sweet Chilli Sauce: Saute garlic, add chilli flakes, then mix in sweet chilli sauce, sugar, soy sauce, and cornstarch slurry. Add fried chicken, toss to coat.

Notes

  • Air-frying option: Preheat air-fryer to 400°F and cook chicken for 10-15 minutes.
  • Adjust spice level by controlling sweet chilli sauce and chilli flakes.
  • Fry chicken in batches to maintain oil temperature.
