Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups (163g) all-purpose flour (measured accurately)
  • 1/2 cup (57g) natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (168g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (112g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (104g) sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Mix-ins

  • 1/2 cup chopped Snickers bars
  • 1/3 cup (56g) chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup (56g) peanut butter chips
  • 1/3 cup caramel bits or chopped caramels

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (176°C) and line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, natural unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside to incorporate later.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars: Using a mixer, cream together the unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy, which should take about 3-4 minutes. This step helps create a tender texture.
  4. Add Egg and Vanilla: Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract into the creamed butter and sugar mixture, mixing until well combined for a smooth batter base.
  5. Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix which can make the cookies tough.
  6. Fold in Mix-ins: Gently stir in the chopped Snickers bars, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and caramel bits ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Form Cookie Dough Balls: Roll the cookie dough into balls approximately 2 tablespoons in size to ensure uniform baking.
  8. Bake: Place the dough balls evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. The centers may appear slightly undercooked but will firm up as the cookies cool.
  9. Cool Cookies: Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5-7 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely, preventing sogginess.
  10. Serve and Store: Enjoy your freshly baked Snickers cookies. Store any leftovers in an airtight container, best consumed within 3-4 days for optimal freshness.

Notes

  • Ensure flour is measured accurately for the best texture—spoon and level rather than scooping to avoid dense cookies.
  • Do not overmix the dough after adding dry ingredients to prevent tough cookies.
  • Cookie centers will look slightly underbaked immediately out of the oven but will set as they cool.
  • Use room temperature butter for easier creaming and better cookie texture.
  • Leftover cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
