This Pumpkin Spice Milk recipe is a cozy and delicious drink perfect for fall or anytime you crave a comforting beverage. Made with pumpkin puree, milk (dairy or non-dairy), honey or maple syrup, and warm pumpkin pie spices, it can be enjoyed cold or hot. The warm version is gently heated on the stovetop and topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of extra spice for an inviting finish.

Ingredients

Milk Base

  • 1 cup / 240 ml / 8 fl oz milk of choice (dairy milk or non-dairy alternative)

Pumpkin & Sweeteners

  • 1/4 cup / 50 g / 1.7 oz pumpkin puree or canned pumpkin
  • 1 tbsp clear honey (or maple syrup)

Spices & Garnish

  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • dollop of whipped cream (optional)
  • pinch of pumpkin pie spice (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cold Pumpkin Spice Milk: Add the milk, pumpkin puree, honey, and pumpkin pie spice into a blender. Blend until smooth. Alternatively, you can put the ingredients in a large jar and blend using an immersion blender to combine well.
  2. Prepare Warm Pumpkin Milk: If you prefer a warm drink, place all ingredients except the garnishes into a small saucepan. Heat on the stovetop over medium-high heat, whisking frequently until the mixture is warm and steaming but not boiling.
  3. Garnish: Pour the pumpkin milk into a glass or mug. Optionally, top with a dollop of whipped cream and a light sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice for extra flavor and presentation.
  4. Serve: Serve the pumpkin spice milk immediately while warm or chilled and enjoy the comforting flavors.

Notes

  • You can use any milk of your choice, including almond, soy, oat, or cow’s milk.
  • Adjust the pumpkin pie spice quantity to your taste preference; start with less if sensitive to spices.
  • For a vegan option, use plant-based milk and maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Whipped cream topping is optional but enhances the richness of the warm drink.
  • Do not boil the warm pumpkin milk as it may curdle the milk or alter the flavors.
  • For a sweeter drink, increase the honey or maple syrup to taste.
