A creamy and comforting One Pot Creamy Mac and Cheese made with sharp cheddar and mozzarella, cooked in a velvety sauce with minimal prep time.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni/pasta of your choice
  • 3 cups water
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2.5 cups sharp cheddar, freshly grated
  • 2 cups mozzarella, freshly grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1.5 tbsp paprika (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1.5 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Grate the cheese and prepare all the ingredients.
  2. In a pot, add the uncooked macaroni and pour in the water. Over medium-high heat, bring the pot to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low.
  3. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions or until it reaches an al dente texture. Turn the heat to low when the pasta is done, leaving a small amount of water in the pot.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients (cream, cheeses, and seasonings) to the pot. Stir well to combine, allowing the cheese to melt completely and form a creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy your creamy mac and cheese!

Notes

  • Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like gouda, parmesan, or a combination of mozzarella and fontina.
  • You can add cooked bacon, sautéed onions, or vegetables like spinach or peas for extra flavor.
  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk or cream for creaminess.
