For the Cookies:
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup shortening, such as Crisco
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
For the Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 3 to 4 tbsp heavy cream
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet.
