Featuring a buttery pretzel crust, fluffy cheesecake pudding whipped cream, and juicy strawberry pie filling, these jars are an easy and elegant treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 2 cups pretzel twists
  • 6 tbsp salted butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar

Filling

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 (3.4 oz) box cheesecake instant pudding mix (unprepared)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Topping

  • 28 oz strawberry pie filling (about 2 cups needed)
  • Fresh strawberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Crush Pretzels: Place the pretzels into a Ziploc bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into small pieces, creating the base crumbs for the crust.
  2. Mix Crust: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir well until all pretzel pieces are evenly coated with the buttery mixture.
  3. Prepare Whipped Cream Mixture: Using an electric mixer, whip together the heavy cream, cheesecake instant pudding mix, and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. Transfer the whipped cream mixture into a Ziploc bag and cut a large slit in one corner for piping.
  4. Assemble First Layer: Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the pretzel crumb mixture into the bottom of each of the seven (4oz) mason jars, creating a crunchy foundation layer.
  5. Add Strawberry Layer: Add 2 tablespoons of strawberry pie filling over the pretzel crumbs in each jar, ensuring an even fruity layer.
  6. Pipe Whipped Cream: Pipe the whipped cream mixture over the strawberry layer evenly in each jar to create a creamy middle layer.
  7. Repeat Layers: Repeat the pretzel crumb, strawberry pie filling, and whipped cream layers one more time in each jar for a double-layered dessert.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Use the remaining pretzel crumbs and fresh strawberries to garnish the tops of the jars for added texture and visual appeal. Chill the jars until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use salted butter to complement the sweetness and enhance the flavor profile of the crust.
  • You can prepare the dessert a few hours ahead and refrigerate to let the layers set well.
  • Fresh strawberries add an extra burst of fresh flavor and make the presentation more appealing.
  • The size of the mason jars can be adjusted; this recipe is based on 4oz jars.
  • If cheesecake instant pudding mix is unavailable, vanilla pudding can be used as a substitute for a slightly different flavor.
