Ingredients

Meat and Vegetables

Crust Mixture

  • 1/2 cup Bisquick™ Original Pancake & Baking Mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pie Plate: Heat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Lightly spray a 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook Beef and Onions: In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned. Drain any excess fat and stir in the salt. Spread this beef and onion mixture evenly in the prepared pie plate.
  3. Add Cheese Layer: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the cooked beef and onion layer in the pie plate.
  4. Prepare and Pour Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, milk, eggs, and vegetable oil until smooth and blended. Pour this batter over the beef and cheese layers in the pie plate.
  5. Bake the Pie: Bake in the preheated oven for 29 to 33 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, indicating the batter is cooked through.
  6. Rest and Serve: Let the pie stand for 10 minutes after baking before slicing and serving, allowing it to set and making it easier to cut.
