Ingredients

Base and Sauce

  • 2 flatbreads (such as naan or pita)
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • Dried oregano, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Sea salt (coarse), to taste

Toppings

  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • Pepperoni (sliced, quantity as preferred)
  • Black olives (sliced, quantity as preferred)
  • Jalapeno pepper (sliced, quantity as preferred)
  • Red onion (thinly sliced, quantity as preferred)

Hot Honey Drizzle

  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes

Garnish

  • Fresh basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 210°C (410°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the flatbread base: Spread 2 to 3 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over each flatbread. Season the sauce with dried oregano, ground black pepper, and coarse sea salt to add depth of flavor.
  3. Add the toppings: Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce on each flatbread. Then distribute pepperoni slices, black olives, jalapeño slices, and thinly sliced red onions evenly on top. Optionally, sprinkle a little more dried oregano for extra aroma.
  4. Bake the pizza: Place the prepared flatbreads on the lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Bake until the cheese is melted, bubbling, and golden brown at the edges.
  5. Make the hot honey: While the pizzas bake, combine honey, sriracha, white vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 20 to 30 seconds until the honey becomes thin and runny. Stir well to blend the flavors and set aside.
  6. Finish and serve: Remove the flatbread pizzas from the oven. Drizzle the hot honey mixture evenly over each pizza. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice into portions, and serve immediately to enjoy the perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and savory flavors.

Notes

  • You can substitute flatbread with naan, pita, or other flatbreads available to you.
  • If you prefer milder heat, reduce jalapeño slices or red pepper flakes in the hot honey drizzle.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the pepperoni or replace it with plant-based alternatives.
  • The hot honey drizzle can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Make sure to watch the flatbread pizza closely during baking to prevent burning since oven temperatures vary.
