These Easy Cheesy Pizza Pockets are a quick and delicious homemade snack or meal option. Made with simple ingredients like refrigerated pizza crust, pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni, these pockets are folded into triangles, baked to golden perfection, and perfect for dipping in extra sauce.

Ingredients

Pizza Pockets

  • 1 refrigerated tube of pizza crust
  • 6 tablespoons of pasta sauce
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese
  • Approximately 12 pepperoni slices
  • Sprinkle of oregano leaves (optional)
  • Small amount of oil for brushing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to prepare for baking the pizza pockets.
  2. Prepare the crust: Open the tube of refrigerated pizza crust and roll it flat on a piece of parchment paper or a floured surface to prevent sticking.
  3. Cut the crust: Cut the rolled-out pizza crust into 6 evenly sized squares to form the base of each pizza pocket.
  4. Add the toppings: On half of each square, spread about 1 tablespoon of pasta sauce, then add a portion of mozzarella cheese and 2 slices of pepperoni.
  5. Fold and seal: Fold each square over into a triangle shape to enclose the fillings. Use a fork to press and seal the edges securely, preventing filling from leaking out during baking.
  6. Optional toppings: Lightly brush the tops of each triangle with a small amount of oil for a golden finish. Sprinkle dried oregano leaves and an additional sprinkle of mozzarella cheese on top if desired.
  7. Bake: Place the pizza pockets on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven at 425°F for 10 to 13 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
  8. Serve: Serve the warm pizza pockets with a small bowl of pasta sauce on the side for dipping, enhancing the flavor.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone or preheat the baking tray before baking.
  • Customize fillings with vegetables, different cheeses, or alternate meats based on preference.
  • Make sure to seal edges well to avoid leakage during baking.
  • These pockets can also be prepared ahead and refrigerated, then baked fresh when ready to eat.
