These Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks are a delightful, cheesy treat featuring a crispy crust topped with a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, garlic butter, and Italian seasoning. Perfect as an appetizer or snack, they bake up golden and bubbly in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 1 recipe Homemade Pizza Crust

For the Topping

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil (or as needed to coat baking sheet)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (divided)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Move the oven rack to the lowest position and set the oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure a hot baking environment for a crispy crust.
  2. Prepare Dough: Place a sheet of parchment paper on a cutting board. Position the homemade pizza dough in the center and lightly sprinkle with flour to prevent sticking. Roll out the dough into a 14- x 10-inch rectangle using a rolling pin; use your hands if necessary to shape it evenly.
  3. Prepare Baking Sheet: Drizzle about 2 teaspoons of olive oil onto a large rimmed baking sheet and spread it evenly with your hands. Carefully peel the rolled dough off the parchment paper and transfer it to the baking sheet, pressing it back into shape to approximately 14- x 10-inches.
  4. Add Toppings: Mix the melted butter with minced garlic and spread this mixture evenly over the dough using a knife or spoon. Sprinkle half of the Italian seasoning and the salt evenly over the dough. Then, evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top. Finally, sprinkle the remaining Italian seasoning over the cheese layer.
  5. Bake: Place the baking sheet on the lowest oven rack and bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and turns a golden brown color.
  6. Slice and Serve: Remove the breadsticks from the oven and let them rest for 1-2 minutes. Use a pizza cutter to slice the bread into 18 strips (cut 6 lengthwise and 3 crosswise) and serve warm.
