These charming heart-shaped mini pizzas are perfect for lunch and fun to make with the whole family. Using store-bought pizza crust and simple toppings like pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and mini pepperoni, these bite-sized pizzas bake quickly to bubbly, cheesy perfection. Ideal for a festive occasion or a playful meal, they combine classic American pizza flavors with a delightful presentation.

Ingredients

Pizza Base

  • Store-bought pizza crust

Toppings

  • Pizza sauce, a few spoonfuls per mini pizza
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese, approximately 1 cup
  • Mini pepperoni slices, 3-4 pieces per mini pizza
  • Mozzarella slices for mini heart shapes, about 3 per pizza

Tools

  • 3” heart cookie cutter
  • Mini 1/2” heart cookie cutters
  • Baking pan lined with parchment paper or foil

Instructions

  1. Prepare Crust: Using the 3″ heart cookie cutter, stamp out mini heart shapes from the store-bought pizza crust to create the base for your mini pizzas.
  2. Add Sauce: Spoon a couple of spoonfuls of pizza sauce evenly over each heart-shaped crust, ensuring a thin, even layer for balanced flavor.
  3. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauced crust, covering the surface adequately for a melty topping.
  4. Add Pepperoni: Place 3-4 mini pepperoni heart slices on top of each pizza to add savory flavor and decorative appeal.
  5. Bake Pizzas: Line a baking pan with parchment paper or foil and arrange the mini pizzas on it. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (204°C) for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Add Cheese Hearts: Immediately after removing the pizzas from the oven, place 3 small mozzarella heart slices on each pizza. Let them melt slightly from the residual heat while retaining their shape.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper or foil on the baking pan to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.
  • The mini pepperoni and cheese hearts add a festive touch but can be substituted with other toppings as desired.
  • Keep an eye on the pizzas during baking to avoid overcooking, as oven temperatures vary.
  • These mini pizzas are great for parties, kids’ lunches, or any special occasion.
