These Garlic Parmesan Pizza Rolls are a quick and delicious appetizer or snack made by deep frying frozen pizza rolls and coating them in a flavorful garlic butter sauce, topped with generous amounts of grated Parmesan cheese and dried basil for a crispy, cheesy, and savory treat.

Ingredients

Pizza Rolls

  • 1820 Frozen pizza rolls (keep frozen)

For Frying

  • Vegetable oil for frying (enough to submerge pizza rolls)

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

Toppings

  • Dry basil (to taste)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (to taste – generous)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oil: Pour enough vegetable oil into a saucepan to fully submerge the pizza rolls. The quantity depends on your pan size; a small saucepan is recommended.
  2. Heat Oil: Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it is hot enough for deep frying, approximately 350°F (175°C).
  3. Fry Pizza Rolls: Carefully add frozen pizza rolls to the hot oil and deep fry for about 3 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown.
  4. Drain Excess Oil: Use a slotted spoon to remove the pizza rolls from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess grease.
  5. Prepare for Coating: Transfer the drained pizza rolls into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  6. Make Garlic Butter: In a separate smaller bowl, combine the melted butter and minced garlic, stirring well to blend flavors.
  7. Coat Pizza Rolls: Drizzle the garlic butter over the fried pizza rolls in the large bowl, stirring gently to evenly coat all rolls.
  8. Add Parmesan: Generously sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the coated pizza rolls.
  9. Season: Lightly sprinkle dried basil or parsley over the cheesy pizza rolls to add a herbal note.
  10. Final Mix: Mix the rolls one more time using a spatula to ensure even distribution of cheese and seasoning.
  11. Serve: Serve the Garlic Parmesan Pizza Rolls immediately while they are hot and crispy for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Keep pizza rolls frozen until ready to fry for best texture.
  • Use a thermometer to ensure oil reaches the right frying temperature to avoid sogginess or burning.
  • You can substitute dried basil with dried parsley or Italian seasoning as preferred.
  • Serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
  • Adjust garlic amount based on your preference for more or less pungency.
