These easy smoked salmon roll ups are a delicious and elegant lunch or snack option, featuring a creamy lemon and green onion cream cheese filling combined with fresh cucumber and creamy avocado, all rolled in flavorful Everything But The Bagel seasoning. They come with an optional citrus soy dipping sauce for an extra burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Salmon Roll Ups

  • 8 oz. smoked salmon
  • ½ cup whipped cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp green onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 small Persian cucumber, sliced into thin strips
  • ½ avocado, sliced into thin strips
  • Everything But The Bagel Seasoning (EBTB) or black and white sesame seeds as alternative

Citrus Soy Sauce (Optional)

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp green onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare Citrus Soy Sauce: In a small bowl, stir together soy sauce, lemon juice, water, and sliced green onion. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the roll ups.
  2. Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, combine whipped cream cheese, green onion, and lemon zest until smooth and well mixed. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Roll Base: Lay a large piece of plastic wrap on a clean counter and sprinkle generously with Everything But The Bagel seasoning. Arrange smoked salmon slices over the seasoning in a slightly overlapping rectangular shape.
  4. Add the Filling and Veggies: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the salmon. Place cucumber and avocado strips in the center of the rectangle.
  5. Roll It Up: Using the plastic wrap to assist, carefully roll the salmon over the cucumber and avocado filling, continuing until the roll is fully formed.
  6. Chill to Set: Place the salmon roll in the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes to firm up, making it easier to slice.
  7. Slice and Serve: Remove from the freezer and slice the roll to your preferred thickness. Serve with the citrus soy sauce or enjoy on crackers like Ritz or Milton’s Crispy Sea Salt.

Notes

  • Black and white sesame seeds can be used instead of Everything But The Bagel seasoning.
  • If you don’t want to use the citrus soy sauce, these roll ups are delicious when enjoyed on Ritz crackers or Milton’s Crispy Sea Salt Crackers.
