Ingredients

Shrimp and Seasoning

  • 1 pound deveined and peeled medium shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper (adjust to taste)

Tacos

  • 810 medium flour tortillas

Instructions

  1. Prepare: Before starting, prepare your taco toppings and ensure the shrimp is fully thawed if frozen, as well as peeled and deveined for the best cooking results.
  2. Combine Spices: In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper for a balanced and flavorful seasoning blend.
  3. Season Shrimp: Add the shrimp, olive oil, and the prepared spice mix to a 14-inch skillet set over medium-high heat. Stir the shrimp around for about a minute to coat them evenly with the spices before cooking.
  4. Cook Shrimp: Cook the shrimp until they turn pink and opaque, stirring and flipping occasionally for about 5 to 6 minutes total. This ensures they are cooked through but still juicy.
  5. Serve: Warm the flour tortillas and serve the cooked shrimp immediately alongside them. Add your favorite taco toppings such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado slices, or sour cream to complete your shrimp tacos.

Notes

  • Adjust salt and pepper to taste depending on your preference.
  • Feel free to add fresh lime juice or chopped cilantro for extra flavor.
  • Use corn tortillas as a gluten-free alternative if desired.
  • Ensure shrimp is not overcooked to maintain its tenderness and juiciness.
  • Prepare toppings in advance to speed up assembly when shrimp is ready.
