A refreshing and vibrant mango salsa that combines sweet ripe mangoes with zesty lime juice, crunchy red bell pepper, and a hint of jalapeño heat, perfect as a topping for seafood, tacos, or a flavorful dip.

Ingredients

Fresh Produce

  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted, and diced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to your spice preference)
  • juice of 2 limes
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped

Seasoning

  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, finely chopped red onion, diced red bell pepper, chopped jalapeño, fresh lime juice, and chopped cilantro. Season the mixture with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Mix all ingredients thoroughly to ensure the flavors blend well.
  2. Chill the Salsa: Refrigerate the prepared mango salsa for at least 20 minutes before serving. This resting time allows the flavors to meld and enhances the taste, making it a perfect accompaniment for shrimp or other dishes.

Notes

  • Adjust jalapeño quantity according to your spice tolerance.
  • For a milder salsa, omit the jalapeño completely.
  • Serve with grilled seafood, tacos, or as a refreshing dip with chips.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
