This Easy Homemade Calzone recipe is a quick and delicious twist on pizza, featuring golden dough filled with pepperoni, mozzarella, and veggies. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or snacks, and ready in just 35 minutes!
1 pound pizza dough
½ cup pizza sauce
½ cup diced onion
½ cup diced green bell pepper
½ cup sliced pepperoni
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Divide dough into 4 equal parts and roll each into a ¼-inch thick circle.
Spread pizza sauce on half of each circle. Add onion, bell pepper, pepperoni, and mozzarella.
Fold dough over to form a half-moon and crimp edges to seal.
Cut 2–3 small slits on top for steam release.
Place on the baking sheet, brush with olive oil.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
For a vegetarian option, omit pepperoni and add spinach, olives, or mushrooms.
Use store-bought dough to save time.
Mini calzones? Just reduce the dough portions and bake for 10–12 minutes.
To prevent sogginess, avoid overfilling and be sure to cut slits in the top.
