Ingredients

1 pound pizza dough

½ cup pizza sauce

½ cup diced onion

½ cup diced green bell pepper

½ cup sliced pepperoni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Divide dough into 4 equal parts and roll each into a ¼-inch thick circle.

  • Spread pizza sauce on half of each circle. Add onion, bell pepper, pepperoni, and mozzarella.

  • Fold dough over to form a half-moon and crimp edges to seal.

  • Cut 2–3 small slits on top for steam release.

  • Place on the baking sheet, brush with olive oil.

  • Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

  • Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit pepperoni and add spinach, olives, or mushrooms.

  • Use store-bought dough to save time.

  • Mini calzones? Just reduce the dough portions and bake for 10–12 minutes.

  • To prevent sogginess, avoid overfilling and be sure to cut slits in the top.
