These Easy Air Fryer Pizza Roll Ups are a quick and delicious snack or meal perfect for any time of the day. Using simple ingredients like flour tortillas, pepperoni, mozzarella string cheese, and pizza sauce, these roll ups come together in minutes and get perfectly crispy in the air fryer. They’re a fun twist on traditional pizza that’s easy to make and great for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 8-inch flour tortillas
  • 4 tablespoons pizza sauce
  • 20 slices pepperoni
  • 2 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Warm the tortillas: Stack the 4 tortillas onto a microwave-safe plate and cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave for about 20 seconds to soften and warm them, making them easier to roll. Alternatively, use a tortilla warmer if available.
  2. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  3. Prepare the cheese: Cut each mozzarella string cheese stick in half lengthwise to make it fit nicely inside the roll ups.
  4. Assemble the roll ups: Lay one tortilla flat. Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce at the bottom edge, layer 5 pepperoni slices on top, then place half a mozzarella string cheese stick over the pepperoni. Roll the tortilla tightly around the fillings. Repeat for all 4 tortillas.
  5. Brush with olive oil: Lightly brush the top of each roll up with olive oil. This step adds a golden crispy texture once air fried.
  6. Air fry the roll ups: Place the roll ups seam side down in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch to allow air circulation. Cook for 5 minutes or until the roll ups are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. Serve: Carefully remove the pizza roll ups from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. They are delicious on their own or dipped in extra pizza sauce.

Notes

  • You can substitute pepperoni with other toppings like cooked sausage, mushrooms, or vegetables.
  • If your air fryer is small, cook the roll ups in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • For a lower-fat option, use low-fat cheese and turkey pepperoni.
  • The microwaving step is optional but helps make the tortillas more pliable for rolling.
  • Ensure the roll ups are placed seam side down in the air fryer to prevent them from unrolling during cooking.
