Deviled Strawberries are a delightful and easy no-bake dessert featuring fresh strawberry halves filled with a smooth, sweet cream cheese and whipped cream mixture. Perfect for a quick treat or elegant appetizer, these bite-sized delights combine creamy, tangy filling with fresh fruit and a crunchy crumb topping for a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Fresh Strawberries

  • 24 large strawberries, cut in half

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups (360g) heavy whipping cream
  • Shortbread or graham cracker crumbs, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract together using an electric mixer or stand mixer until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  2. Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, ensuring the cream holds shape firmly.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until evenly combined, taking care to maintain the fluffy texture.
  4. Prepare the Strawberries: Slice the strawberries in half and arrange them on a serving plate. If any strawberry halves do not sit flat, trim a small section off the back to stabilize them.
  5. Fill the Strawberries: Transfer the cream cheese filling into a piping bag fitted with a star or preferred nozzle. Pipe the filling generously onto each strawberry half.
  6. Add Toppings and Serve: Sprinkle shortbread crumbs or graham cracker crumbs over the filled strawberries. Serve immediately for the best texture and freshness.

Notes

  • For a quicker version, use store-bought cream cheese frosting, whipped cream, or Nutella as filling instead of making from scratch.
  • Slicing a small flat surface on the back of the strawberry halves helps them sit upright and makes filling easier.
  • Serve these treats immediately to maintain the texture of the whipped cream and freshness of strawberries.
  • The recipe yields 8 servings assuming about 3 strawberry halves per person.
