Crockpot Angel Chicken is the creamy, slow-cooked miracle your chaotic weeknights didn’t know they needed. It takes five minutes to throw together, tastes like Sunday supper, and fools everyone into thinking you have access to a personal chef. This classic American vintage recipe is a comforting and satisfying dish for dinner.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 1.5 pounds chicken breast, boneless and skinless
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped or left whole

For the Sauce:

  • 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup
  • ¾ cup chicken stock
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 0.6 ounces Italian dressing mix (such as Good Seasons)

To Serve:

  • 1 pound angel hair pasta

Instructions

  1. Spray the crockpot: Spray the inside of the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Add chicken and garlic: Place the chicken breast and garlic in the crockpot.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In a separate bowl, soften the butter and cream cheese in the microwave. Whisk until smooth. Add the cream of chicken soup, Italian dressing mix, and chicken stock. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Cook: Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  5. Optional step: 30 minutes before the cooking time is finished, shred the chicken with two forks and continue to cook in the sauce.
  6. Cook pasta: Just before the chicken is done, cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions. Drain.
  7. Serve: Serve the chicken and sauce over the cooked pasta.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. This dish does not freeze well.
  • Tips: Be sure to spray the crockpot well for easy cleanup. Use dry Italian salad dressing mix, not prepared dressing. Do not mix the mix with water; use it dry.
