Ingredients

Lasagna and Seafood

  • 9 lasagna noodles (cooked until al dente)
  • 1 bunch of green onions (diced)
  • 1 lb cooked lobster meat
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • 1 lb raw shrimp (diced)
  • 4 tsp seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay)

Sauce

  • 5 tbsp salted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp coarse black pepper

Cheese and Garnish

  • 4 cups Sargento Italian Cheese blend
  • 2 tsp parsley flakes (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine Seafood Mixture: Toss the diced green onions, cooked lobster meat, crab meat, and diced raw shrimp into a large mixing bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined, then sprinkle in the seafood seasoning and fold gently. Set this mixture aside for layering.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the salted butter. Once melted, sprinkle the flour over the butter and whisk continuously until the mixture forms a smooth roux without lumps.
  3. Add Cream: Gradually pour in the heavy cream while whisking constantly to ensure the sauce remains smooth. Continue cooking the sauce until it thickens to a creamy consistency.
  4. Season the Sauce: Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, coarse black pepper, and kosher salt. Whisk thoroughly and let the sauce cook for another 2 minutes to meld the flavors, then remove the pan from heat.
  5. Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly oil a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking. This will be used for layering the lasagna.
  6. Assemble the Lasagna – First Layer: Spread a layer of the prepared sauce on the bottom of the dish, then place 3 cooked lasagna noodles on top. Evenly spread half of the seafood mixture over the noodles.
  7. Assemble the Lasagna – Second Layer: Add another layer of sauce over the seafood, sprinkle a generous layer of the Italian cheese blend, then add 3 more noodles. Spread the remaining half of the seafood mixture evenly on top.
  8. Assemble the Lasagna – Third Layer: Pour the remaining sauce over the seafood, top with the last 3 noodles, then cover with the remaining shredded cheese. Optionally, sprinkle parsley flakes on top for garnish.
  9. Cover and Bake: Cover the entire baking dish tightly with foil. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the cheese to melt and bubble.
  10. Rest and Serve: Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for about 15 minutes to set before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your creamy seafood lasagna.

Notes

  • Ensure the lasagna noodles are cooked al dente to prevent them from becoming too soft during baking.
  • You can substitute the seafood seasoning with Old Bay or any other seafood spice blend you prefer.
  • If raw shrimp is used, ensure it is diced finely so it cooks evenly within the bake.
  • For a lighter option, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream, though the sauce will be less rich.
  • Covering the lasagna with foil during baking helps retain moisture and prevents the top from burning.
  • Allowing the lasagna to rest before serving helps the layers set, making it easier to slice.
