Classic chocolate chip cookies, perfectly soft, chewy, and sweet with a rich combination of milk and semi-sweet chocolate chunks and a hint of sea salt.

Ingredients

1 cup Butter (softened)

1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar

1/3 cup Sugar

2 large Eggs

2 teaspoons Vanilla

2 3/4 cups Flour

1/2 teaspoon Cornstarch

1 teaspoon Baking Soda

1 teaspoon Salt

2 cups Chocolate Bars (chopped) or Chocolate Chips (milk or semi-sweet or a mix of both)

Sea Salt Flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 385°F. If you plan to chill the dough before baking, skip this step until you’re ready to bake.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar for about 4 minutes, scraping the sides frequently.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing for another minute until well combined.
  4. Mix in the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt until combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chunks or chips of your choice.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space for spreading. For added flavor, chill the dough for 24-48 hours before baking.
  7. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are slightly gooey. Let them cool and set on the baking sheet.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle sea salt flakes on top while the cookies are still warm.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough before baking can enhance flavor and result in chewier cookies.
  • If you want softer, chewier cookies, avoid overbaking.
  • Substitute butter with a dairy-free alternative to make these cookies dairy-free.
  • For gluten-free cookies, use a gluten-free flour blend.
