Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 11/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 11/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk

Apple Mixture:

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped

Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Glaze:

  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla until pale.
  4. Add Eggs and Flour: Beat in eggs, then mix in flour and milk alternately.
  5. Prepare Apple Mixture: Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and apples.
  6. Layer Batter and Apple Mix: Pour half batter, add half apple mix, swirl, repeat with remaining batter and apples.
  7. Add Topping: Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mix on top.
  8. Bake: Bake for 45-55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Glaze and Cool: Cool bread, then drizzle with glaze.
