Indulge in the rich, decadent flavors of Chocolate Tiramisu, a delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert. Layers of chocolate ganache, creamy mascarpone, and soaked ladyfingers make this a truly irresistible treat.

Ingredients

Chocolate Ganache:

  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate, (1 cup), finely chopped
  • 1 3/4 cup heavy cream, divided use

Mascarpone Cream:

  • 6 large egg yolks, at room temperature
  • 7 oz granulated sugar, (1 cup)
  • 1 lb mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2430 ladyfingers, the soft variety, (use up to 40 if using a 9x13 pan)
  • 2 cups prepared hot chocolate, strong, cooled to room temperature

Instructions

  1. Make the Chocolate Ganache: Place chopped chocolate in a bowl. Heat 1 cup heavy cream until simmering. Pour over chocolate, whisk until smooth, cover, and refrigerate until thickened.
  2. Make the Mascarpone Cream: Beat egg yolks and sugar until thick. Add mascarpone, salt, vanilla; beat. Whip remaining cream, fold into mascarpone.
  3. Assemble the Tiramisus: Layer chocolate, soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and repeat. Top with chocolate and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
