These Chocolate Bliss Balls are a nutritious and delicious no-bake snack made from sunflower seeds, dates, raisins, cocoa, and coconut oil. Rolled in desiccated coconut, cocoa, or ground almonds, they are perfect for a quick energy boost or a healthy dessert option.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 150 g sunflower seeds (1 cup)
  • 150 g dates (1 cup)
  • 150 g raisins (1 cup)
  • 20 g cocoa or cacao powder (¼ cup)
  • 15 g coconut oil (1 tablespoon)

For Rolling

  • Desiccated coconut
  • Cocoa powder
  • Ground almonds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mixture: Place the sunflower seeds, dates, raisins, cocoa powder, and coconut oil into a food processor, ensuring the desiccated coconut or other rolling coatings are set aside for later.
  2. Blend the ingredients: Blitz the mixture in the food processor, being patient as it takes about 5 minutes for the ingredients to combine into a sticky, cohesive mixture suitable for rolling.
  3. Form balls: Use a spoon to scoop portions of the mixture and roll them between your palms into small balls of desired size.
  4. Coat the balls (optional): Roll each ball in desiccated coconut, cocoa powder, or ground almonds to add texture, flavor, and an attractive finish.
  5. Chill: Place the balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to firm up and enhance the flavors.

Notes

  • Make sure your dates are soft; if they are dry, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes prior to blending.
  • You can store these bliss balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
  • These make an excellent pre- or post-workout snack due to their energy-boosting natural sugars and healthy fats.
  • Feel free to customize the rolling coatings to include crushed nuts or seeds for added crunch.
