Ingredients

Unsalted butter

Granulated sugar

  • 1 cup

Brown sugar

  • 1 cup, packed

Large eggs

Vanilla extract

  • 2 teaspoons

All-purpose flour

  • 3 cups

Baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon

Salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon

Maraschino cherries

  • 1 cup, drained and chopped

Semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this mixture into the butter mixture.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
