Cava Crazy Feta is a creamy and flavorful Mediterranean-inspired dip featuring whipped feta cheese blended with olive oil and combined with sautéed sweet onions and fresh jalapeños for a perfect balance of spicy and savory flavors. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s ideal as a dip or spread for gatherings or snacks.

Ingredients

Feta Mixture

  • 8 oz feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Vegetable Sauté

  • 1/4 cup olive oil (plus 2 tbsp, divided)
  • 1 cup sweet onion, finely diced
  • 1/3 cup fresh jalapeños, finely diced (seeds and stem removed)

Instructions

  1. Heat Olive Oil: Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to a small frying pan and heat it over medium heat.
  2. Sauté Onions and Jalapeños: Add the finely diced sweet onions and jalapeños to the pan. Cook, stirring frequently, for a few minutes until the onions and peppers start to turn golden brown and reduce in size.
  3. Whip the Feta: While the vegetables are cooking, break the feta cheese into pieces by hand and place them in a food processor or blender. Pour in 1/4 cup olive oil and blend, stopping occasionally to stir or scrape down the sides, until the feta becomes smooth and creamy.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Transfer the whipped feta into a large bowl. Add the sautéed jalapeño and onion mixture to the bowl.
  5. Mix and Adjust Spice: Stir the feta and sautéed vegetables together until fully combined. For extra heat, add some of the jalapeño seeds as desired.
  6. Store or Serve: If not serving immediately, store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Before serving, allow it to come back to room temperature to regain its creamy and dippable texture.
