With a golden caramelized crust and a drizzle of luscious caramel sauce, this quick and easy dessert is a comforting treat that comes together in just minutes.

Ingredients

Wraps

  • 4 Flatout Bread Healthy Grain Wraps or other tortillas

Filling

  • 1 Granny Smith Apple, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch Kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar

Topping

  • Caramel sauce, for drizzling
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • Pinch Kosher salt, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Soften Cream Cheese: Place the cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 10-second intervals, stirring between, until it is softened and easy to mix.
  2. Prepare Cheesecake Filling: Stir the brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of Kosher salt into the softened cream cheese until fully combined, creating a smooth and flavorful cheesecake mixture.
  3. Assemble Quesadillas: Spread about 1/4 of the cheesecake mixture over half of each tortilla. Layer the thinly sliced Granny Smith apple evenly on top, then sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar. Fold the tortilla over to create a half-moon shape.
  4. Prepare for Cooking: Lightly spray the outside of each folded quesadilla with nonstick cooking spray and sprinkle with additional cinnamon sugar to help develop a golden, caramelized crust during cooking.
  5. Cook Quesadillas: Heat a large skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Spray the skillet with nonstick spray before adding each quesadilla. Cook each quesadilla for about 1 minute per side or until the exterior is golden brown and crispy, and the filling is warm and gooey.
  6. Serve: Drizzle the hot quesadillas with caramel sauce and sprinkle with a small pinch of Kosher salt for a perfect balance of sweet and savory. Serve immediately and enjoy this indulgent treat!

Notes

  • You can substitute Granny Smith apples with any tart apple variety for a similar flavor.
  • Use gluten-free tortillas if you need a gluten-free dessert option.
  • If you prefer a less sweet dish, reduce the amount of brown sugar and cinnamon sugar.
  • For a crispier quesadilla, cook a bit longer but be careful not to burn the sugar coating.
  • Warm the caramel sauce slightly for easier drizzling.
