Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 pound asparagus spears, trimmed

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and sear until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and pour the Caesar dressing over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the chicken.
  7. Arrange the trimmed asparagus spears around the chicken in the skillet.
  8. Sprinkle the asparagus with garlic powder and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
  9. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the asparagus is tender.
  10. Serve the chicken and asparagus with lemon wedges for a burst of freshness.

Notes

  • Use a lighter Caesar dressing to reduce calories.
  • Substitute asparagus with green beans or roasted broccoli if preferred.
  • Add croutons during the last few minutes of baking for crunch.
  • Add halved cherry tomatoes for a sweet contrast.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
  • Add red pepper flakes or cayenne for spicier flavor.
  • Use thawed chicken breasts for even cooking.
  • Substitute chicken with tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian option.
  • Assemble ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Pair with creamy garlic mashed potatoes, green salad, or crusty bread.
  • Use mozzarella or Asiago as cheese alternatives.
  • Check chicken doneness with a meat thermometer (165°F/74°C).
  • Grilling chicken before baking is an option.
  • Use gluten-free Caesar dressing to keep it gluten-free.
  • Freezing leftovers is not recommended due to asparagus texture changes.
