A refreshing Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini that combines the tartness of fresh lemon juice with the sweetness of blueberries and simple syrup, shaken with vodka and served in a sugar-rimmed martini glass. Perfect for a quick and elegant cocktail in just 6 minutes.

Ingredients

For the Martini

  • 10 blueberries (plus more to garnish)
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 ounces vodka

For Garnish

  • Sugar (for rimming the glass)

Instructions

  1. Rim the Glass: Run a lemon wedge along the rim of a martini glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into sugar to coat evenly. Set the prepared glass aside.
  2. Muddle Blueberries: Place 10 blueberries into a cocktail shaker and muddle them thoroughly until they are broken down and juicy.
  3. Add Liquids: Pour in 1 ounce of fresh lemon juice, 1 ounce of simple syrup, and 2 ounces of vodka into the shaker with the muddled blueberries.
  4. Fill With Ice: Add ice to the shaker until it is about three-quarters full, then cover with the shaker lid.
  5. Shake Vigorously: Shake the mixture well for about 15-20 seconds to chill and blend the flavors thoroughly.
  6. Strain the Cocktail: Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the cocktail into the sugar-rimmed martini glass to ensure a smooth drink without blueberry pulp or seeds.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Add a few extra blueberries on top for garnish and serve immediately while cold.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, use fresh blueberries and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Simple syrup can be homemade by dissolving equal parts sugar and water or store-bought for convenience.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup according to taste.
  • Ensure the glass rim is well-coated with sugar for added visual appeal and sweetness.
  • Use a fine mesh strainer to avoid blueberry seeds in the final cocktail.
