Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup soy sauce (can use low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper

To Serve

  • Cooked rice, as desired

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter: In a large pan over medium heat, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter until fully liquid and hot.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and jalapeno to the pan. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables begin to soften.
  3. Add Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the pan with the vegetables. Break it up with a spatula and cook thoroughly until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink, and the vegetables are tender.
  4. Drain Excess Liquid: Carefully drain any excess fat or liquid from the pan to reduce grease, then return the beef and vegetable mixture back to the pan.
  5. Season the Mixture: Pour in the soy sauce and add garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly mixed and the flavors are combined.
  6. Serve: Serve the beef and pepper mixture hot over cooked rice for a complete and hearty meal.
